Sunday: Why I’m running for Eagle Town Council

Born and raised in the Eagle River Valley, I have found there is no better place to live than right here in Eagle. After attending Red Sandstone Elementary, Minturn Middle, and Battle Mountain High School, I went on to the University of Northern Colorado and obtained a BS in Business Administration. Soon after graduating, I moved back to the valley and started to work with my father at Alpine Vending & Video, inc. I am now a part owner and still work there today.
Growing up, I spent my years living in EagleVail, Avon and Edwards. I have seen our valley go through immense growth and change. We used to have car races in Avon, a four-way stop in Vail, and Gashouse was all that Edwards had to offer.
I moved to Eagle 13 years ago from “upvalley” with my wife, Audrey, and have never looked back. A few years after moving to Eagle, we were blessed with our son, Harry. Eagle is home to us and forever will be. The community and family feel are unmatched. The less service-oriented and more local-oriented culture is what draws us to Eagle. The friendships we have made and the people are truly the best in the valley.
When I’m not skiing, playing softball, or enjoying the many community events Eagle has to offer, I am volunteering. Currently, I serve on the following boards: Vice president of Colorado Amusement and Music Operators, Board of Directors of Amusement and Music Operators Association, Volunteer ski coach for the Buddy Werner League, Eagle Town Council (elected in 2021), Eagle Valley Transportation Authority, Economic Vitality Committee (Eagle), and The Bluffs HOA.
Although I cherish the entire valley, Eagle is home. This is where my passion comes from and my desire to be on the Town Council. Eagle is a unique and special place that we need to preserve as much as we can while also making sure our growth is responsible and done correctly. We have many projects going on that will enhance our quality of life. Grand Ave. Corridor, Haymeadow, pool replacement, and the continuing maintenance of our mountain bike trails just to name a few.

Each different department of our local government must work in collaboration to ensure we are following the Master Plan. We have been very diligent in working together to strive for the best place to live. Our town staff, police, and community are the best in the valley.
Eagle has been the leader on so many levels that others are starting to follow. We have overhauled our town code with the ReCode Eagle project, created the DDA, approved and are currently enacting the compost and recycling for all to help us achieve our Net Zero 2030 action plan, created our own internet connectivity, and are currently working hard on our Grand Ave. corridor rebuild.
We have a great council now. Although we have differing opinions, we all get along and respect one another. We listen and have a productive dialogue. Moving forward, I believe the best candidates to help us achieve greatness and continue our path of leadership are Jamie Woodworth Foral, Bryan K. Woods, and Nick Sunday.
It would be my honor to continue to represent the town of Eagle and help us move forward. The last two years have been a lot of work, but very rewarding. My goal of serving is to ensure Eagle is somewhere my 9-year-old son would want to live when he gets to that point. Let’s “Keep Eagle Weird” while also moving us in the right direction.
