Hi Vail. I am Samantha Biszantz, but please call me Sam. I am running for Vail Town Council and I am asking for your support.

Vail needs innovation in leadership. Vail needs creators of opportunity to continue the strong legacy of so many of us: moving here, falling in love with Vail, figuring out how to stay. I want to make that story continue to be a possibility for anyone who wants it — because it’s who we are, and it’s who we need to be moving forward.

I am a co-owner of two small businesses in Vail Village — Root & Flower and Two Arrows. I am a deed-restricted homeowner. I am an active advocate, including six years of service on the Commission on Special Events and having founded multiple series to inspire and support our front-line service workers (e.g., entrepreneurship, mental wellness). I am a lover of wildflowers, hiking, skiing, golf, good food and wine, and above all creating opportunities for good and hard-working humans.

Vail deserves to be a livable, vibrant, and sustainable community. A livable Vail is a town with attainable homes and high-quality systems, from transportation to schools to utilities. A vibrant Vail is the community-oriented, cultural, and economic epicenter of the valley. A sustainable Vail offers social, economic, and environmental fulfillment.

I promise to make well-informed decisions that properly represent the diverse people who make Vail go round. I will work tirelessly to build consensus with my fellow council members and town staff to create public-private partnerships that are supportive of Vail’s visions and goals, rather than punitive to our constituents and partners.
